PALS Precourse Self-Assessment. Precourse Self-Assessment Instructions.

The PALS Precourse Self-Assessment is an online tool designed to assess a student’s knowledge in three key areas:

  • Rhythm Recognition
  • Pharmacology
  • Practical Application

Step 1: Create an AHA Account
Visit the American Heart Association (AHA) website at www.elearning.heart.org and create an account.

Step 2: Access the Assessment

  1. Log in to your AHA account.
  2. Search for “PALS Precourse Self-Assessment”in the search bar.
    • Be sure to select the assessment without any additional course titles.
  3. Launch the assessment.

Step 3: Complete the Assessment

  • All students must complete the Precourse Self-Assessment before attending the PALS course.
  • A minimum passing score of 70% is required.
  • This assessment helps determine your readiness and whether additional review is needed before the course.

Step 4: Submit Your Score Report
Once you complete the assessment, you must print or email your score report. You can:
